Good Afternoon,
Earlier this morning I was reading one of the bloggers, Michael Stephens. He wrote, "the libraray is human" because it makes the library a social and emotionally engaging center for learning and experience". He said more about "strategy guide" for helping users find and gather information. I believe that. At the Library there are people willing to help you find what you are looking for, and preparing to make use of it. The computer is a tool in the search, just like a book, newspaper or speaker. But I am less sure of the internet. Yes, yes, I know! The computer and internet are almost one and the same.
But I am very tired of being grunted at by someone that hasn't got the social skills to ask for the use of a computer. People walk up and grunt, cptr! And half the time if you are aware of what they want, you can't hear them or understand what they said.
I believe that is another way of losing the humanity in our society. I will sadly miss it when it is gone.
Sorry, that is my trip to the soap box today.
Have a nice weekend everyone!
Darlene
