Good Morning,

This is my first attempt at blogging. And I find the idea a rather daunting task. Which is rather silly. I talk way too much, so what is the difference between talking and typing? Not much!

My name is Darlene and I enjoy reading. During lunch, after work, long drives (can't if I'm driving, but I use audio books), and boring television programs, I read. I have probably 40 authors that I read everything they publish. Since I work at a library, sometimes covering the Circulation Desk, I have the opportunity to handle books being returned. Some really great books are returned daily. I have already mentioned that I talk too much, so you should be able to guess that I'm not shy about asking patrons about their reading habits.

My position at the library is Youth Services Coordinator. I work with children and young adults. I order books, take care of the departments, plan programs, put together displays, bulletin boards and set up classes (art, crafts, story times, etc.) for both age groups. I work at the Palatka Library and oversee the departments at the other four Putnam County Libraries. Sometimes programs are countywide allowing the other managers and Ito work together.
